How to save a report in MetaTrader 5
- Open the Toolbox window (Ctrl+T) and the History tab.
- Right-click the list and pick a period — for example, All History or Last 3 Months.
- Right-click again — Report → HTML. The terminal saves a file like
ReportHistory-12345678.html. - Choose that file above or drop it into the frame.
Any MetaTrader 5 account history report works — live, demo or prop.
What is calculated
Each closed position is one trade; its result is the profit including commission and swap. From these come net profit, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average win to average loss, streaks, and breakdowns by symbol, by expert advisor (position comment), by month and by direction. The balance curve follows close times; deposits and withdrawals are taken from the Deals section of the report.
Why the numbers can differ from the report’s Results section
- Number of trades. MT5 counts every partial close as a separate trade; here a trade is a whole position.
- Wins and losses. Here a trade with a small profit eaten by commission is a loss: results include commission and swap.
- Drawdown. Here deposits and withdrawals are not trading results: they shift both the balance and its peak, so withdrawing profit is not a drawdown. The percentage is taken from the balance peak before the largest drawdown, net of withdrawn money. MT5 counts withdrawals as part of the drawdown and takes the percentage from a peak that ignores them, so for accounts with withdrawals its numbers differ from these — up to drawdowns above 100%.
Good to know
A history report does not contain the floating loss of open positions, so the real equity drawdown was at least as large as the calculated one. Times in the report are broker server time, and the hourly breakdown uses it. If the report covers only part of the history and has no deposits, the drawdown percentage is not shown — the base is unknown.
The file never leaves your computer
The report is read and analysed right in your browser: it is not sent to the Davinchu server and is not stored anywhere. Close the tab and the result is gone.
Let it calculate itself
A report is a snapshot of one moment. Connect the account to Davinchu with a read-only expert advisor and trades flow into the journal on their own, while account analytics shows the same and more: drawdown from hourly equity snapshots including floating losses, growth adjusted for deposits and withdrawals, Sharpe and Z-score. The Free plan includes two accounts.
