Economic calendar today: high-impact news in Telegram

In short. An economic calendar is the schedule of data releases and central bank decisions, each rated by impact: High, Medium or Low. High events move the market most: US jobs (NFP), US inflation (CPI) and rate decisions by the Fed, the ECB and the Bank of England. Per the BLS schedule as of October 29, 2026, the next jobs report is due on November 6 and inflation on November 10, both at 8:30 a.m. New York time — 13:30 UTC, or 16:30 in Moscow; the next Fed meeting is December 8–9. Around such releases the spread widens and a stop can fill with slippage, so traders check the calendar in the morning, before the first trade. What an economic calendar is

It is a table of what statistics agencies and central banks publish and when: time, currency, event, analysts' forecast, previous value and, after the release, the actual figure. The market reacts to the gap between actual and forecast: inflation above expectations shifts the odds of a rate move, and a currency can cover a day's range in minutes. The impact ratings come from the calendar's compiler, not from the agency.

Key events and their schedule

Dates are from the BLS and Federal Reserve pages as of October 29, 2026; the Fed's 2027 schedule is tentative, and meeting minutes come out three weeks after the decision. The latest figures: September payrolls rose by 29,000 jobs with unemployment at 4.2%, CPI rose 0.6% over the month and 3.7% over the year. On October 28 the Fed held the target range at 3.75–4%, and the statement came out at 2:00 p.m. New York time.

UTC = ET + 5 h in winter (EST), + 4 h in summer (EDT); Moscow = UTC + 3 h

Example: on October 28 the US was still on daylight time, so 2:00 p.m. ET was 18:00 UTC and 21:00 in Moscow. From November 1 it is standard time, so 8:30 a.m. ET on November 6 is 13:30 UTC and 16:30 in Moscow. What to do before a major release

• Spread. The spread widens around the release. In MetaTrader 5 a short position's stop is checked against Ask, so a wide spread can close the short even though Bid never reached the stop — more in «How to set stop loss and take profit in MT5».
• Slippage. A triggered stop closes the position at the current Bid or Ask, and in a fast market that price can be well beyond the stop. Pending orders close to the price get filled on the spike.
• Decide in advance: stay out in a window around the event, cut the position or hold it with room in your risk.

loss = (pips to stop + slippage) × pip value × lots

Example: EUR/USD, 1 lot with a 100,000 euro contract, one pip of 0.0001 is worth $10. A 20-pip stop means a planned loss of $200, 1% of a $20,000 account. A fill 15 pips worse: (20 + 15) × 10 × 1 = $350, or 1.75% of the account — 75% more than planned. The pip value of your symbol is in the pip value calculator.

News and prop firm rules

Some prop firms allow trading any event, others forbid opening and closing trades in a window around High events, and others apply that ban only on the funded account. A breach can cost the trade's profit or the whole account. Morning checklist

1. Today's High and Medium events for your instruments' currencies.
2. Times converted to your zone, «no entry» windows marked.
3. Open positions and pending orders that fall on an event — checked.
4. On a prop account — the firm's news rule checked.
5. After the release — enter only by plan and once the spread is back to normal.

«Today's news» in Davinchu

In the dashboard: «Settings» → «Notifications» → the «Today's news in Telegram» card → the «Send the morning digest» toggle. Below it, «Send time» in 15-minute steps, 08:00 by default, in the zone from «Settings» → «Profile» → «Time zone». The «Next digest» line shows when the first one comes: if today's time has passed — tomorrow. Telegram is linked on the same tab — step by step in «How to connect Telegram». Pick a time outside «Quiet hours»: during them regular messages wait until they end.

• Title — «📰 Today's news · 06.11»; a long day arrives in parts — «(1/2)», «(2/2)», up to 30 events.
• Event — 🔴 High or 🟠 Medium, the time in your zone, the currency, the calendar's English title, «Forecast» and «Previous».
• «What it is» and «Market impact» — an AI explanation in your dashboard language: what the indicator measures and how the market usually reacts when the actual figure beats or misses the forecast.
• Footer — the time zone, the source and «AI explanations are reference, not a trading signal».

Events are picked by the currencies of the current strategy's working instruments — the «Trading instruments» field in «Strategy settings»:

An event with the currency «All» goes to everyone; with no instruments set you get all nine calendar currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, NZD, CAD, CHF, CNY. On a weekday with no High or Medium events you get «No important news today: no High or Medium events for your strategy's currencies», and on a weekend such a day brings no message. The digest is available on every plan, does not use the monthly AI limit and is mirrored to the dashboard bell. Calendar, no-entry window and setups

The source is the weekly Forex Factory feed: the Davinchu server fetches it at most once an hour and serves one snapshot to the dashboard and the digest, so Telegram and «Strategy» show the same events.

• «Strategy» → «Overview», the «Today's news» card — up to five High and Medium events for your instruments; the next one has a countdown («in 1 h 20 min»), each has an «i» icon with the AI explanation; the «All events today: N» button opens the calendar.
• «Strategy» → «Calendar» — «Today», «Tomorrow» or «Week»; impact «High and Medium» by default, or «Any impact»; currency — «My instruments», «All currencies» or one; times are in your time zone.
• «Strategy» → «Rulebook» → «News policy» → «Edit» — «Minutes before High» and «Minutes after High», up to 240. A new strategy starts with 15 and 10: for NFP at 16:30 Moscow time you will see «no entries 16:15–16:40», and while the window is on, «Overview» warns «No-entry window now, until 16:40 — …» with the event name.
• «Trading plan», the setup card — for an unfinished setup with High events today for the instrument's currencies: «High Impact events today for this instrument: N». The «News checked» button records the check, and «Strategy compliance» counts that item.
